Official 2024 Panther Basketball Recruit List

I think Born and Anderson are virtual locks to come back next year just because they mean a lot more to this team than they could elsewhere, but I am interested in what possible looks Nate could get. I think he has opportunities that Tytan and Born don't just because his skill set can pretty much seamlessly translate anywhere.

All speculation but could take another year here and ride out with Anderson/Born, could explore those 1-2 years elsewhere who knows. I'd imagine he has the level to play at some pro level so that could be a priority to him as well starting earlier rather than later.

Hate to be that guy given we're not even at the end of this season, but there were whispers last year, and I only imagine they grow louder this offseason.

Jake also mentioned in that news conference what a huge deal it was to have a crowd like that. He also made sure to say it's on the team to bring fans to McLeod which I don't really disagree, however, we certainly could've been doing a lot more as a university to market and sell our products.

One other note, does the asterisks denote a redshirt? If so, Rubin would still be considered a freshman with Hornseth. and Peksari could throw an asterisk on his name, too. Love the breakdown though. It will be interesting to see what guys like Heise do after next year. I'm guessing they will have some good opportunities. Our scholarships could fluctuate quite a bit the next couple years.

The asterisk represents the complete and total bat**** situation that is Nate Heise's eligibility. Jess Settles, Grant Gibbs and Jordan Bohannon are jealous of the amount of time he gets to spend playing college basketball.

Dang, I really liked his unique skill set and fire to the team, but I totally would get it. He’ll be 24 next year and if Rubin played this season he might not have gotten many minutes anyway. Add in Hornseth next year and it may be a similar situation to Betz from last year where moving on is a more appealing decision. Hopefully we can send out on a good note.

Initially I thought the best part of Born’s brother coming here was basically locking in his 5th year here, but he’s looking really good this year. He’s not a natural like his brother, but he does have a significant height advantage. A year in the weight room(180 is rather thin for 6’3) and adjust to the college game is going to be great for him. The fact we don’t have to use a scholarship initially I think is a good strategic use of a roster spot.

Henry's development on a scorer on the block has been great to see.

Stats are updated as of this morning for our two recruits. They are on the first post of this thread. Redek has been very steady shooting the ball well. Hornseth has been very solid as well. I'm not sure either of these guys move the needle for us a ton next year, but I do think between Hut, Rubin, and Hornseth, we have three guys who can play the 5 for us. That doesn't even include Tytan if we want to play really small. That also doesn't include Courbat if he has continued to develop.

Hornseth is 6'8"-6'9" but he has nice wide shoulders and definitely appears to be able to play down low if needed. I think he has nice potential to keep filling out and be a strong kid down low. Feel free to check out how they are doing as they get ready for state ball soon.

I have been updating that little stat grid I put up, but it doesn't make it the newest post when I just edit it. I will just make a new post when I update it, so everyone knows that's the date it was updated. They are both having great years. Redek has really been outstanding and his percentages are top notch. Hornseth's team is stacked. One of his teammates (Kinziger) is also going to Wisconsin, and a good chunk of their games have been blowouts.
