Wichita State is battling with #1 Oklahoma in the Norman regional. Bailey Lange, a transfer from UNI a couple of years ago, is the Shockers ace pitcher. Don't know all the circumstances why she left CF, but her lefty deliveries combined with Packard from the right side would have made a formidable 1-2 pitching staff for the Panthers.

Tbf, if we had Lange still, it's possible that we wouldn't have gotten Packard in the first place.

I was looking at the Shockers website a few weeks ago, Lange was their staff ERA leader, but looked like they weren't having her bat. With us, she was like 3rd in HRs as I recall, very nice hitter.

So we split with the Clones, and both get shut out by the Tigers. Our win was 8-0, and our loss to ISU was 4-3.

too bad that bases-loaded opportunity in the 6th didn't yield any runs

As they say, that's baseball...and/or softball.

it's just kind of similar to mounting a football drive to inside the 10 yard line in the final minutes of the game when you're down by 2 and not being able to put up any points.
