  • I re-watched the beginning of the game, which I'd missed last night. The announcers, commenting on Heittola's first start, said that Wolf suffered a knee injury that "could be season-ending". Given how close we are to the end of the season, and how women's sports knee injuries tend to go (sadly!), I'm assuming Wolf's UNI career is finished Damn.

Looks like either Drake or MSU will end up playing on Thursday. With the Bears winning in Springfield, I'm not sure how a tie-breaker would work.

    • Yes Wolf’s season and career is done. She will have surgery after season so she can travel with team…

      • Wolf has ACL tear and partial MCL tear.

        • This is sad news.

          • What a classy move by Coach Warren and great sportsmanship by Missouri State. Coach Warren started Cynthia Wolf. We let Missouri State get tip and a non defended basket. Wolf was sent at tip to stand underneath our basket. After Bears basket, we threw a ball to Wolf who scored a basket. Officials time out and Wolf got a senior sendoff. Watch it on ESPN3. Very emotional moment.

            • Enjoying hoops in the heartland. Slim crowd but not surprising given today's weather. 2nd round Friday night 830 pm UNI versus UIC.

              • Nice win today. Great UNI crowd tonight. Semis tomorrow vs Belmont at 4pm.

                • That was a scary situation with Green, it looked like one of those football-type knee injuries when the UIC player fell across her leg. I was amazed she was back in the game a few minutes later.

Nice games from Heittola and Morgan! (and of course Boffelli).

UIC has some speed & quickness, they play really hard on defense and they can shoot three's. They could be a problem next season.

I saw that the Saint Louis U team we beat earlier in the season won the A10 tournament and is NCAA bound.

                  • I'm a big fan of Coach Warren.

But I'm not sure why...when you're down by 5 with 30 seconds left in a game and you're shooting FTs...you have your other 4 players standing at half court.

Why wouldn't you put them on the lane and try for an offensive rebound and another possession.

Especially when the shooter is 3 for 8 from the line on the day.

We missed the 2nd FT twice but had no rebounders.

                    That's a head scratcher.
Winning is more fun than losing.

                    • Same. She's better than we have any right to have here with how we support the program but she REALLY struggles in end of game situations.

                      • did any of her teams give up a 12 point lead in the final 44.3 seconds of a game?

                          • At the half: team we beat twice 39, team we lost to three times 26.

Be interesting to see if Drake wins, whether Belmont gets an NCAA at large, given their past success.

                            • Belmont will go to NIT if they lose most likely. They have the 4th highest rpi. Drake highest. UNI 2nd Illinois State 3rd.

                              • Somebody forgot to tell Drake they're supposed to have dead legs with 3 games in 3 days. They're shooting 65% in the 2nd half.

In other news, ISU leads Texas by 10 with 2 min. to go.
