Nice victory last night. Happy to see Green's shooting better. Drake beat Belmont. Belmont will be a tough game on Sunday.

THAT was the Valley preseason favorite on display. Green & Laube on fire!!

I watched the end of Drake-Belmont. They are a different-looking team from last year, but pushing Drake that hard in Des Moines is impressive.

I'm going to guess she'll be examined on Monday, and that the team won't be sharing much for specifics. AFAIK, it was the TV media that announced Boffeli's injury as a fractured collar bone 6-7 weeks after it occurred. Given how knee injuries go for basketball and that it's February, I'm assuming it's a season-ender for Emerson, unfortunately. If it's the dreaded torn ACL, she'd be unlikely to be ready for next fall, then the question becomes does she take an injury redshirt next season. Goring forward, I'd guess more minutes for Laube & Wharton. I was about to type that it might be an opportunity for Riley Wright, but I see she's no longer on the roster.

OTOH, even with Green, we were going to have trouble keeping out of Thursday at the tournament, given our tendency to slow starts and general inconsistency. A shame, because when we're on we're very good.

I was hoping for a miracle and Green be back yet this season but realistically expect it will be season ending.

Never realized Riley Wright is no longer on the team. Just saw her not listed on yesterday's program.

Our slow start versus Drake in the first quarter really killed us. Plus giving up at least 10 points by not being back on defense quick enough.

Ironically, just as we lose Green, Megan Meyer has rejoined Drake, after having initially retired due to an ACL injury suffered last season, She played 6 minutes and scored 3 points. IIRC she had been starting at the time of the injury.

Got a chance to watch yesterday's game this morning. What a great comeback. Congratulations to Coach Warren who got her 202nd MVC win and is now all time leader among coaches in the MVC.

I just looked at the standings, as of now we're tied for 4th with the Redbirds. Once we get past Drake, we finish with 4 winnable games while the Birds have to play Missouri State and Belmont. Really good shot for missing Thursday at the tournament.

Illinois State lost a squeaker to Belmont, giving us the 4 seed for Moline. Still going to be some tough battles at the tournament. Have to say I can't see anyone but Drake (NET 70) or Belmont(NET 73) winning it.

We beat them twice in the 22-23 regular season, but yeah, we can't get past them in the tournament. Anna Miller always gives Boffeli a tough time. Have to give props to McCauley and Becker for Drake, neither were anything special before this season, but they stepped up to give Drake a really solid starting 5.

Very disappointed with our last possession in regulation. With 30 seconds left, we ended up with our back-up point guard having a driving shot blocked out of bounds. With about four seconds left, from under our own basket, we throw a long pass nearly out to mid-court which is stolen. Poorly executed and didn't give us much of a chance to score the winning basket. Overtime is never the friend of the underdog!

100% agree. We weren't winning in overtime and that last possession was a disaster.

Waited way too long to start the action and didn't keep the ball in the right hands. It HAS to be Bofelli setting a ball screen for McDermott and making Drake decide what they're going to do. Worst case scenario should've been Bofelli getting that 15 footer she hits a a decent clip.
