Losing sucks, but man, we went down fighting! So cool how this team came together. I have to say that I don't remember Rewerts being a big deal at Drake, and I don't remember Hartman playing in '23, but both were beasts this season!

Got to watch the replay tonight. Man that was an intense match. It's hard to say we let one get away from us when we were facing the 1 seed, but that really felt like one that we let slip through our fingers. I am so impressed with how well everything operates.

Just an incredible effort and another incredible season for the GOAT Bobbi!

So many missed opportunities in the last half of set 5. But, wow, this team fought to the very end. There was no fear or any give up. Just were not able to finish it off. What a fantastic season. Great Team and Wonderful Program They gave us Panther fans something to be very proud of. Going to miss this group of seniors.

I think there were 4 service errors in the last half of the fifth set. We sure gave them a battle! Thanks for such a great season, ladies.:-)

It just feels like we're not allowed to win these types of games/matches anymore.

Almost Panthers. Great season Bobbi. How many unforced errors did we have in the last half of the 5th set?

2 of the 3 sets in the first match we played against them here (back in September) were deuce (23-25 and 25-27), so I see no reason to think it won't be a competitive match

I figured they'd send us to Creighton to possibly have KBB coaching against her daughter (Reese, one of our setters) in the second round (because then the NCAA would have only had to pay bus travel for us, since it is less than 400 miles, but they have to pay for air travel to send us to Louisville)

The volleyball "bracketologists" are upset that they gave UNI an 8 seed, since we don't have any top 25 wins (and only 1 top 50 over Rice, who didn't even make the tournament). But I really don't see much difference between being an 8 seed and facing a tough unseeded opponent like Illinois, or us being the tough unseeded opponent playing against another secondary seed)

Illinois finished the regular season 18-12 (and 10-10 in Big Ten play). They have an RPI of 40 (compared to UNI's RPI of 31)

common opponents between the Illini and the Panthers:
    Dayton: UNI lost 3-2 to the Flyers at Dayton (25-20 21-25 25-15 16-25 11-15); Illinois lost 3-1 to the Flyers in a neutral site match (25-18 19-25 20-25 18-25)
Ohio State: UNI lost a closely contested neutral site match to OSU (20-25 25-22 24-26 27-29); Illinois swept the Buckeyes in a home conference match (25-18 27-25 25-20)
Illinois State: UNI beat ISU twice. 3-1 at ISU and then sweeping them 3-0 in the conference tourney this past week. Illinois beat the Redbirds 3-1 at home

UNI volleyball earned the 8 seed in the Louisville regional and will play Illinois at 3 pm (CST) on Friday Dec. 6 in Louisville, KY.
Should they win that match, they will face the host Cardinals (barring a major first round upset from Chicago State, which isn't going to happen) in the 2nd round.
