Was hoping for more qualifiers, but the six going will make a lot of noise. Go Panthers!

Schwarm lost in first round but records a fall in 1st round of cons, Alber wins first round then loses in second round, Thomsen won first round lost in second to 2 seed from OSU, Steiert won first by MD, wins second round as well. Lujan won first round by MD gets fall in second round, Foster won first and second rounds so have 3 in quarters UNI currently sits in 7th place as team

Congrats to Foster and Steiert!!! Amazing job by both. Can’t wait to see Drew in the championship match. When was the last Panther to make a final?

Hell of a job from Foster! Congrats! First Champ from UNI in19 years. To think, he didn’t win a state title in high school. I thought to win he would have to do what he does best and dominate on top, but the offense on his feet and the quick escape won the match for him.

I thought it was neat to hear about how the coach of Foster's opponent (Cornell coach Rob Koll) is the son of Bill Koll, with all his ties to the ISTC/UNI wrestling program.

Also great that Foster paid tribute to a great friend of the program, Jacques Dubois, after the match. Prayers for Jacques as he battles cancer.

Fosters title was sort of the monkey getting off of the programs back since Schwab took over. I think we all can see the amazing growth there has been and the overall excitement getting bigger and bigger but finally having a champ is huge to continue to push the program towards being a national power

Congratulations Drew!!! All of that hard work truly paid off. Kept grinding away, year after year. This should really motivate current and future Panthers in wrestling and other sports. You make us all proud, Drew.

That's a big step forward for the program. Schwab will be using the "he never won a state championship but he's a national champion" mantra in recruiting for years to come. Congrats to Foster, his teammates and the coaching staff for a national champ and a top 15 team finish!
