UNI will need to figure out what the plan is at 133, 157, 165, as Bisco sounds like he's headed to medical school and Holschlag and Yant are graduating.

125: Hopefully Gollhofer can take a step forward with a full season under his belt now. He was a highly ranked recruit if I remember correctly.
133: Land, maybe? He didn't have a great season, but that first year is always going to be tough unless you're simply on another level. Alabama may not be a wrestling state, but winning 5 state titles isn't something just anybody can do.
141: Happel seems like a guy who's going to be hungry to improve and get on the podium before he's done here. Not worried about him.
149: Realbuto is another guy like Happel who can make the bloodround if he gets just a little bit better.
157: Allard or Weston, maybe? Realbuto if he wants to move up?
    165: Weston?
174: Really hope Runyon can get healthy. I think he's capable of winning a couple matches at the NCAA tournament if he can wrestle all season.
    184: Keck
197: Voelker seems like he can step in and be a national qualifier
285: Nice 2022-2023 season for Gordon. Probably capable of making the bloodround with some improvement.

We lose 3 national qualifiers. Hopefully between Gollhofer improving and Land and/or Voelker being the real deal, we're able to end up in a similar situation at the NCAA tournament next year. I used to have some La Porte City connections who knew what was going on in the wrestling room but I don't anymore, so I don't know much about how the redshirts and backups look.

What happening with Christian Minto at 165? He came in as a two-time NCJAA champion and three time NCJAA All American (was runnerup three years ago), but wrestled unattached this season. He was red-shirted this year.
    "Well, that escalated quickly."

Great year for gordon 1 more with the improvement he had and we could have an AA. He did have his senior night though like he might move on. Buss is in the wings here but dont know what kind of growth he is having?

Wow, I whiffed on Gordon going through senior night stuff. That sucks.

Minto didn't have a great redshirt season. Lost to a few guys who weren't anything special.

Did not know about the issues. Remember seeing some press about him joining and then he was red-shirted.

Jack Thomsen transferring back to the Cedar Valley from SDSU. Don't think he's a world beater but he should be able to help fill the gap at 157 or 165. Although I can remember some La Porte City guys telling me they thought he had a higher ceiling than Max.

If he can do better than the first ever Big 12 finalist UNI ever had, a 3x NCAA qualifier, a first team academic all-Big 12 member, and an All-American, then I for one welcome our new Thomsen overlords
