I see this as an opportunity to set up very clear alignment between the athletic department, PSC, the emerging collectives, and central campus.
What does UNI aspire to be athletically? That is a question that needs to be clearly answered...

Sponsorship and donations will clearly be job one, but an outside perspective on how the department is structured should be welcomed. Maybe it's good, maybe some staff or resources need to shift slightly.

I was kind of surprised the plan isn't to expand the current lot south of the West Gym, rather than just sodding over it. If they did it in a smart way, they could have connected that lot with the Schindler lot.

We should quite literally play Western Illinois to open both the MBB and Football seasons every year. Home and home. I get why they might not want to do it, but seriously... just make it happen.

I mean, there is a reason this was the game that held up our schedule release until the very end... Jake knew this particular game on the road wasn't the best way to start the season -- and likely spent a considerable amount of time trying to find ANYONE...

If a single overtime road loss at a quality mid-major is what keeps us out of an at-large bid, so be it. That says more about the broken process than it does about UNI as a team.

I've officiated HS ball for over 25 years, and can't remember once calling an invalid fair catch - and definitely wouldn't do so in that kind of a situation. It's definitely one of those things you would want to talk to the player about, unless it caused...
