The trouble was he was going to get better — then the long COVID / vaccine hit him. So it’s tough to recruit when you can only promise backup minutes.
It was a worst cast scenario in that way because we weren’t going to get someone...

This is the first year since the NCAA decided not to have players sign LOIs. I think the assumption is that players will sign with schools. That absolutely could include bonus clauses for performance.
