Making the 3 hour ish drive for this one

Every once in a while, we have a real smooth offensive possession that you can point to and say "that's what this flow offense is supposed to look like." But I don't think it happens more than once every few games for us.

i thought you'd be right, but it looks like we're certainly capable of playing even worse...

If I'm a student with $25 to my name, I'd rather spend it all at Chad's Pizza and go home and sit in the dark vs walk in the cold to watch this team for 2 hours for all the pizza I can stuff in my mouth....

I agree, broadcast was pretty bad.
No one is asking for this, but figured I'd give my thoughts on the dual lol
125: Anderson put last year's national champ in a couple dangerous spots that ultimately didn't result in anything,...

Arizona State 1/17 at 8 PM
Finally something we can watch now that we're getting to conference play - should be on ESPN+. Arizona State has some dawgs, but we should still win this one handily. Will be interesting to see if we can keep performing at the level we have been lately...

Felt like we scored a lot of nice wins and nobody lost to anybody they shouldn't have. Simma beat DeVos again. Farber had at least one nice win against a guy ranked higher than him. Hope we're not peaking too early, but probably even more likely that...Last edited by asihe_1991; 01-12-2025, 07:23 PM.

Crowd seemed more sparse than I thought it would be, but I really have no idea what to expect out of an event like this regarding attendance. Seemed like it was running well though - 32 mats were always going.
I'm not there today, just following...

Ohio dual was a little more interesting. UNI wrestled starters at every weight. Notable matches included Simma losing to #7 Thompson 5-3 and Runyon pinning #27 Greer. Ohio has the #15 kid at 157 but he didn't wrestle Downey. UNI won this one 48-3....

I'm interested in what people think of Seth Tuttle as the successor to Jake. Obviously loved him as a player. I'm not nearly as informed as others are, but it sounds like Tut's primary contributions right now are in recruiting? I think I remember people...

NWCA National Duals
Event in the Dome today and tomorrow. South Dakota State might be the only other team here worth mentioning. UNI wrestled Sacred Heart in their first dual and won 38-7. Starters wrestled each weight except Rahnavardi at 157 (he won), Fox at 174 (he lost),...

Yep. I have as much fun as anyone saying that teams like Bradley and Drake actually secretly suck, and we'd actually be good if we weren't so bad. But these last two games drive home that we just don't have it.
Sure, we didn't have Hutson....

What a dual. Anderson, Happel, and Downey with huge wins. Keck pins Big Ten champ Allred. Runyon and Voelker beat ranked guys.
Does Land's name being on there, even though he didn't wrestle today, mean UNI is expecting him back soon?

Soldier Salute
Awful results page here
UNI did pretty well. Realbuto, Simma, and Anderson all got third; Anderson lost his first match and fought all the way back. Realbuto had a big tech over #21. Farber got 5th - haven't heard anything on Land's inj...
