  • Feel Good Story of The Year!

Call me a softy, but I think this is a pretty neat story.

...by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries. Yep, it's made with bits of real panther. So you know it's good."

What a sweet shot the kid had too. I can't imagine being there and not shedding tears. I saw the story last night on CNN HN and it was really touching.

That kids has a sweet outside game after hitting 6 3-pointers. Man he had 20 pts that was amazing.

He was just on ESPN, that kid was on fire and all he could talk about was how much his team needed him for the win. Pretty cool story.

Wow that's impressive. What a great story!! Something like that happened at Waverly - Shell Rock in a Sophmore game 4 years ago. We had a person named Greg who had some sort of disability, but I'm not sure what it was. He got into a game and no one from the opposing team was guarding him. If I remember right he took the first shot and missed it, but then got the rebound and made it. I was a Senior at the time and we had our own game to get ready for. This was much more impressive though. Great Story!!
Coach Whisenhunt 1/18/09. "There was never any complaints about not being named the starter, all he wanted was an opportunity and he took advantage of it. Kurt is probably one of the greatest individuals you'll ever meet. Kurt worked hard on a lot of things that a lot of times older quarterbacks aren't willing to do. That's a credit to his humility and his competitive drive, and the reason that we are here today in great part is what Kurt Warner has done for us."

Merk...I remember it well. The game was against Oelwein and Oelwein's Sophomore coach instructed his players to allow Greg to get a basket. I heard that it was pretty exciting for Greg to get that basket and the crowd was going nuts. Then someone from Waverly sent an editorial to the Oelwein paper commending the coach and the team for their fine act of sportsmanship.

The Oelwein sophomore coach at the time = Steve Sanders, father of Eric Sanders.

Yep, I think you're right JC. As big as a rivalry it is between the two schools it was great to see some sportsmanship between the two teams. Oelwein was our biggest rival in every sport. Yes, the crowd did go nuts.

who makes 6 straight 3's in under 4mins? Has Jacobson ever done that in a game? How many times has even the great Reddick or Morrison done that? Heck, add in Kobe or AI. Who cares if you're not being covered, thats not even easy in an empty gym. Thats just so incredible. Just great, great stuff

That kid has a nice stroke. No luck involved there. He can shoot the rock.

What do you think his parents felt like watching him pour in those three's and seeing the gym go crazy. Wow.
