It's cheaper to have Fox Sports or ESPN shows ready to play than it is to keep and pay local talent to do local shows. I moved to Cincinnati in 1999 and there were/are two AM sports stations that had several local sports talk shows. And they had them in morning and afternoon drive time. About 2-3 years later all the local talk shows on both channels were gone except for one afternoon drive time show that still exists. WLW still has local Sports Talk every night there isn't a baseball or basketball game which was a thing even in the early 80s. Now it's pretty much all corporate. That's kind of sad.

I-Heart radio fired people nationwide not just Iowa. They cut local talent in many markets. I saw cuts in places like Detroit also. Probably let go of their higher paid people to cut costs using the excuse of restructuring. Corporations will do this to make their books look better. Sadly, the nature of business in 2020.

Jacobson will be on Miller/Condon at 10:45 today. Hopefully this becomes a regular thing.

That is great news. The station received alot of negative feedback. Glad they changed their minds.
