  • Smith goes to extremes for Panthers

Cool article on UNI's strength coach

The new facility sounds pretty awesome!
"I think they're very good," Farley said of the preseason top 25 Hawkeyes. "But so are we."

Wow, that does sound impressive. "Unlike any other facility in the country." Who would of thought that could get done in this environment.

    Thank you Mr Jacobson.
Winning is more fun than losing.

The new facility sounds incredible. Smith has been doing great work without it and now will have every advantage imaginable. Great stuff.

I would love to get a tour of this new facility when complete.

For anyone who may not know, this is the final part of the HPC and is only about half of the project. Much of the construction has been done for a couple of years and has been inhabited by multiple departments of the HPELS division of the College of Education. Athletic Training, the fastest growing major on campus, is completely housed inside the HPC, including a sparkling training room, a hydrotherapy room that is beyond state of the art, and classrooms for students. Also included is Cedar Valley Medical Specialists and the UNI team doctor, Camp Adventure, and a couple of other programs that have escaped my mind. This facility would not be possible without great donations from many donors including the aforementioned Richard Jacobsen, after who it is named. One thing I forgot to mention, the new football locker rooms and coaches' offices are a part of this construction project also. This facility is one that has been in planning for quite a few years and is now nearly complete and will serve UNI and the Cedar Valley community extremely well for many many years.
