  • Week 3 IOWA-Let's shock the world!!

Next up are the IA Hawkeyes who won a tight game against Iowa State because they were distracted because of their following week game against the Northern Iowa Panthers. Ok enough of the fake hype. Could we win? Possible but realistically probably not. Trying to decide what would be considered a good indicator coming out of this game. Hold them to winning by less than 28?

There is no good indicators coming out of this game. We simply have to survive and get to the next week healthy.

When we went into Kinnick in the 2000's and 2010's, we legitimately went in there to win the game, and we had our chances. This is not the case anymore in 2026.

Kirk won't run it up but there won't be a moment where it's competitive. Somewhere in the 45-3 range.

Just survive the next two weeks healthy and see if we can use the bye week to build some momentum for the back half.

Avoid any major injuries should be the realistic goal here. If we do that and manage to keep the score within 40 I'd consider it a success.

I doubt Kirk plays his 1s more than a half, but even the 2s and 3s will knock our teeth in. Just get out of there avoiding injury. On that point, I think there’s actually a case to be made for playing our 2s and 3sro keep our starters from getting hurt. We get the check regardless of the score.

To any UNI fan who actually plans to watch this game….I have a question for you. Is everything OK man? Why are you doing this to yourself?

Haha. I'm planning to actually sit down and watch the 1st quarter and go until we're down by 3+ scores. Then the game will likely just be on as background noise while doing other things around the house.

UNI has won three games total against teams with scholarships since 2023. Four of their seven wins in the last three seasons have come against the Pioneer League.

It has been 1,054 days since UNI won a road game against a team with scholarships.

Wow. I just got sick like really sick.
I knew UNI isn’t good, but didn’t realize just how bad. That’s Indiana State level bad.

You needed to do a bit more research before posting. Last season (2025) UNI beat Eastern Washington on the road. I believe they are a scholarship program.

That game was in Cedar Falls.

Worse, actually. Indiana State beat EIU on the road five days ago.

I have 2 free tickets to the game if anyone is interested. They are physical tickets so we would have to meet somewhere beforehand.
