Not to disagree, but he was healthy for 5 of our losses and over half of the Bradley game. But,

He is definitely shooting with confidence right now. 2-3 against Bradley before he went down, 3-3 last night (2 treys and one deuce by a toe on the line). Having him shooting with confidence opens things down low for the bigs. Hopefully it starts to rubs off on a couple other guys and good shooting becomes as contagious as bad shooting.

Also like the fact that the coaches are switching defenses so that Adam doesn't have to try and match up always with quicker players. Keeps him on the court.

Viet's two was a missed call by the officials. Kudos to the guys across the aisle for pointing out to them that Viet ONLY scores from behind the arc.
"OH BABY! I Love this team!"

The difference is playing time. Adam deserves more. He can contribute to this team in the scoring department and that's where we need help.

The last two games he's played in, he's shot well, and the team has looked better on a whole.

I was all for Kerwin before the season started, but he simply doesn't do much when he's in the game. And he's usually in a game for better than 15 minutes. Viet holds his own on defense, and is just as productive as Kerwin and Montgomery, at this point in their careers.

We can continue to get those guys minutes, but Viet has proven that he needs his as well.

I also like the way Travis has played the last few games.

Adam was 2-2 from three point land.

Rest of team was still 2-8.

I'm standing pat. Adam Viet with playing time = Panther win!

Speaking in terms of earlier in the season though, it's hard to be productive when your putting butt-shaped dents in nice UNI cushions. There were games where Viet didn't even stop on the floor earlier but where Kerwin and Montgomery received PLENTY of minutes.

I'm glad Jake is figuring some of this out now.

I like the fact that Jake is working a wide rotation of players and that we are using defensive schemes that allow for different combinations.

I like Dunham, he has the best Assist-to-Turnover ratio on the team (and one of the very few positive ones). It is one of the reasons I still think he should be splitting time with Haak at the point and letting Josten move back to his 2 role. He plays pretty good defense and is able to match up with some of the 6'5"-6'6" SF's that are in this league.

I like Montgomery, he plays very hard on the defensive end-always. His offense has been streaky but he's a freshman. I think he should still be used, the playing time will pay off down the stretch.

I like Viet, he gives us an added dimension on the outside, especially now that he's back shooting with confidence. I think that has more to do with the scheme that we are using on both offense and defense that is getting that confidence back. Early in the year he was not hitting or getting consistent playing time, but he was also being used to come off screens and catch and shoot on the move. What I have seen against Bradley and MSU is that he is getting to find a spot on the perimeter and wait for a kickout pass where he is already set. He has proven that that is where he is most comfortable and is showing it again. On defense, I think the coaching staff is doing a better job at identifying the match-ups that favor Adam and going zone at times when he is not at an advantage. If there is a guard that is not a big scorer or a bit slower, we play zone, against quicker guards we switch to the zone with Adam out there.
