Re: "Missouri State fires Hinson after nine seasons" according to ESPN
Agree. I think he's a good guy to represent your school and seems to run a pretty good program. I'm sure MSU wishes they were a tad higher on the MVC totem pole, but he's done a solid job there.
His name seems to come up in all the right stories. When Mac's wife was diagnosed as being sick, he made contact with them promptly. When Stout had his heart problem identified, same thing. Class act.Winning is more fun than losing.

We should be on the phone with him RIGHT NOW trying to get him as an assistant coach before someone offers him a full time job. I know there is no chance, but we can still dream, can't we?
He should sue the NCAA selection committee for lost wages, because if they had made the tournament even once in the last four years, we wouldn't be having this conversation today.
Most impressive to me -- 46 of his 48 players graduated in 11 years coaching. Guess that doesn't count for anything in the coaching world. What a shame, he will be sorely missed in the Valley. Good luck Barry! It's my kind of team, Charlie. My kind of team!

How many would you expect him to have? That seems about right, doesn't it?Originally posted by KaBullseye15 View Posthow did he manage to have only 48 players in 11 years, im not putting that on you since it was in the article its just odd to me that its 48 players in 11 yearsTH1974: This guy was all-UNI, and wanted to show it by pretending to play a non-existant musical instrument in public.

They probably don't count the players in place when he came in, just "his" recruits, which could reduce it to about 38...Originally posted by KaBullseye15 View Posthow did he manage to have only 48 players in 11 years, im not putting that on you since it was in the article its just odd to me that its 48 players in 11 yearsSon, if you really want something in this life, you have to work for it. I was behind the bench for the MSU/ISU game friday night and when the coaches went to shake hands Hinson looked up at his wife, put his palms up and said I'm sorry to her. I think he really got a bad deal there. If they beat us back in the 04' championship things woulda been way different for Barry.

I had a couple of discussions with Barry after games at UNI..............a very very nice guy. He was willing to stop and just talk. The league is going to miss him!! This mess includes Ben Miller, son of Eldon. I hope all ends well for all involved.Last edited by oldcat; 03-10-2008, 02:56 PM.Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier'n puttin' it back.
Before you wonder "Am I doing things right," ask "Am I doing the right things?"
