  • When will times be announced?

When will the times of all the games be announced? Any thoughts on when UNI will play? With the new pod system, I can't figure out which part of the games will be played in the afternoon vs. at night.

The NCAA has some control over what games are played when, but CBS has a lot of say because it's their money being paid for the TV and radio rights. I also can't tell you which brackets will be afternoon or evening, but I can tell you that the top game on each "pod" of 4 teams will be the first game of the session. This means the UNI-WI game will be the first game of whichever session it's assigned to.

From here on out I'm just educated guessing. Looking at the teams assigned to OKC, I am going to take a shot at when each game will be. They might have the UNI game as one of the first games of the day, possibly around 11 or noon. This would allow the KU game to be somewhere around 2 or 3, in the heart of the after-school viewing period. This would then push OK State into the evening, for the perfect Prime Time game in OK.

Once again, this is all just guessing, and I could be wrong.

        Game Time

6:20 Friday Night. PRIME TIME BABY!
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."
