ISU "Firebirds"

[JayJ79]

From the program guide on my cable TV:
"ESPN2 Live, Illinois State at Creighton in Missouri Valley action. The Firebirds downed Creighton 88-64 on Jan. 3....."

New mascot in Normal, evidently.

At least they're not calling them Iowa State, or getting the town name wrong.....

Well, Denver Johnson did go bye-bye after the football season...is this an omen for "Weird Al" Jankovich?

ESPN continues to slide down the deep hole of sloppy reporting. 15 minutes ago, listening to ESPN radio in the car, talking head spewed this little gem

"Creighton leading Illinois State at the half. I tell you, when you look at the big dance, you have to look at Creighton, who has lead the Missouri Valley Conference all season."
