Re: Televised BB schedule released
8 games by Panther Sports Network is a nice improvement! How many did KFXA do in years past? 2? Would think Mediacom would pick up a few as well."I think they're very good," Farley said of the preseason top 25 Hawkeyes. "But so are we."

I believe the home team has the rights to the TV broadcast and would assume the game at Drake will be on TV but hasn't been announced by Drake yet.Originally posted by UNI4Life View Posthttp://www.unipanthers.com/sports/m-...091809aaa.html
A little surprised that the Siena game will not be picked up on a more national scale.
Also, no Drake away game on TV?

Re: Televised BB schedule released
I can not see what all the excitement is about over the televising of HOME games when, on many nights, we can barely half fill the place regardless of who the game is with.
If this TV thing is all it is cracked up to be, televise the ROAD games. That would be a real service to the fans.
If Channel 7 (with the their side channels) and the local cable companies are televising many or most of the home games, many fans will sit home instead of going to the home games. Don't give me the argument that it is exposure for the basketball team. The team has had plenty of exposure and success. Consider the conference regular season title, win the MVC tournament and an NCAA appearance.
And we are still at the bottom or close to the bottom in home attendance in the league.
How do you explain or justify that?

Re: Televised BB schedule released
So are Panther Sports Network games on TV in Des Moines? I'm not as concerned with the Drake game in DSM b/c I'm definitely getting tickets to that, but I can't make weekday games in CF so I want to see those here! I just need to move back to CFGO PANTHERS!

Re: Televised BB schedule released
I don't have the necessary permissions to post new topics, but this is television-related information about Bracketbusters.
From the release:
"The eighth annual BracketBusters event, a two-day men's college basketball extravaganza pitting potential NCAA Tournament hopefuls against each other Feb. 19-20, will feature 11 nationally televised games - on either ESPN2 or ESPNU -- selected from a pool of 98 teams.
For the fifth straight year, ESPNU, the 24-hour college sports network, will televise five BracketBusters games while ESPN2 will televise six contests. The 11 BracketBusters matchups will be announced Feb. 1, while game time and network assignments will be announced Feb. 8."
