The Big Show used to play basketball in the Valley. I believe for Wichita State, but didn't last too long as he was too slow for the Division 1 game.

Correct. His name was/is Paul White or Paul Wright (can't remember). Met him at a MVC Tourney back in the day when he played at Wichita State. BIG DUDE....
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

I don't believe it's been announced yet, but the Harlem Globetrotters will also be in the McLeod Center on March 31. Tickets go on sale mid-December.

Nice to see these kinds of events in the McLeod.

Globetrotters are listed under events on the tickets website but tickets are not on sale yet. Whereas WWE is not listed under events but is on WWE's website as being here and also lists ticket prices.

Paul White is his name and I remember seeing him when they played in the Dome. His greatest strength was he was tall but not very athletic.

Close. Paul Wight. (or Paul Donald Wight, Jr. To be specific. at least according to wiki)

I heard a rumor that this show is going to be cancelled. Anyone know if that true? The link to buy tickets has been taken down and the WWE schedule says they will be in Boston that same night...

It's been a while since I've watched WWF/WWE. My two favs were The Rock and Diamond Dallas Page.

That is true. I asked the ticket office today because I bought tickets for my nephews, and they said there was some "routing issue" per the WWE. I'm thinking that is the WWE's way of saying we get more money and more people in Boston that Cedar Falls. I'm thinking they had that date booked for a couple different places and then went to the place that sold the most tickets in the first week.

Yeah "routing issues" is complete B.S., considering the next night they are in Nebraska, then Rochester, MN and then Minneapolis. CF is right next to all those stops, Boston isn't remotely close. And it's not like CF is a hard stop for them, since they've had shows here before. CF in the early 2000s, and in the 80s Waterloo was a multiple shows a year stop for the WWF.

I think the tickets sold poorly so they canceled it. That's too bad, since they had HUGE crowds when they ran the Dome in 2000 and 2001 for non-televised events. I don't think the show this time was marketed very well, I didn't see a single ad (newspaper or on campus) nor hear a single radio advertisement for it.

Uh yeah, no kidding. How were they expecting to sell tickets? There was NO advertising for this. People didn't even know about it.

This is true. I didn't buy the tickets for my nephews until late Tuesday and there was still ringside seating and the rest of the arena was WIDE open
