  • Ranked teams this week

I think we're going to be on the bubble of cracking the top-25 (last 4 in).

These are the ranked teams that have lost this week (so far). Obviously we can't jump many of these teams, but we should be able to jump just enough

    4 Purdue lost to Wisconsin
5 Duke lost to Georgia Tech
    7 Syracuse lost to Pittsburg
8 West Virginia lost to Purdue
9 North Carolina lost to Charleston
    11. Kansas State lost to Missouri
    12 Georgetown lost to Marquette
    13 Connecticut lost to Georgetown
14 Mississippi lost to Mississippi State
15 New Mexico lost to San Diego State & UNLV
17 Wisconsin lost to Michigan State
20 Georgia Tech lost to Georgia
24 Washington lost to Arizona State

What about the teams in the "others recieving votes" section that were ahead of us? How did they fare?

You also need to take into account how far these teams will actually fall. Some of these teams also had "good" wins, apart from those "bad" losses.

      Example:
Georgia Tech lost to Georgia, but they also beat Duke.
Wisconsin lost to Mich State, but they also beat Purdue.
Georgetown lost to Marquette, but they also beat UCONN.

I know we're not jumping them, but add Kansas lost to Tennessee.

This is good, because now we have the third longest active win streak in the country.

                Re: Ranked teams this week

I'm usually one who tends to be more reserved when it comes to rankings, but IMO, the two nationally televised games has helped. In addition, UNI's non-con schedule afforded UNI to have more of a national flavor in their pursuit of more AP votes (and in particular beat writers who follow teams UNI beat). Having games against Siena (NY), DePaul (Chicago), BC (Boston), Wyoming (WY), East Carolina (Mid-Atlantic), Denver (Denver) has allowed UNI to have more of a name when it comes to garnishing more votes than maybe previous years. Granted the DePaul and NIU games weren't impressive, the games on national tv against in-state foes ILSU and SIU probably helped sway more voters in that region.

I think the 2 ESPN family games this past week helped UNI in a big way, and I expect the Panthers to crack the top 25 Monday.
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

As much as I think we "deserve" to be...I think we end up #27 this week. Not enough teams 20-25 did horrible and the teams ahead of us did enough to keep voters with them.

Doesn't mean we can't jump those teams.

I think we will. I think the national TV games, plus the fact that we now have the 3rd longest winning streak in the entire nation will put us over the top.

Kansas lost to a team that fielded six scholarship players. Seriously.
