    It's Not That Bad

    Relax folks. I didn't think we would get a 9, and I'm not thrilled about it, but lets take a minute to examine this thing. A few things worth noting.

    1. If you followed the projections, you knew there was a decent chance we could get an 8 seed. A 9 is essentially no different for our purposes.

    2. I LOVE the match-up with UNLV. This is a team that could have easily been a 9-11 seed, and they are very beatable. I think our D will give them fits. Certainly, we could have done worse than this in the first round, even if we were a 7 seed.

    3. Certainly, nobody was hoping for Kansas, BUT, Bill Self has a history of losing early in the tournament. Huge upsets to both Bucknell and Bradley in years past. I'm not conceding anything.

    Interesting...I think our D will give you guys fits as well. Might this be a game in which the final is in the 50s?

    I don't know much about UNI. But I know UNLV will be ready to play. This may be a fun game to watch.

      That's a solid prediction. A lot of our final scores end up in the 50's, and with both teams placing heavy emphasis on defense it could easily be a 1st to 50 wins type game.

      Looking forward to it.

        sorry....but you beat teams by not turning the ball over and playing good defense....and that's exactly what UNLV does. Its not a good matchup for you at all IMO.....In fact your 3pt FG defensive would be 4th or 5th best in our conference, and don't get lured into looking at our 3pt FG% and thinking you can concede shots from outside....

        You're going to have a tough time with UNLV, and as far as matchups go, you couldn't be more wrong....this is a horrible matchup for you. We see teams like you in our conference all the time (BYU, Air Force, CSU....), we'll know how to play your guys, but you will NOT have seen an on the ball defense like we have....trust me on that

            Wichita State comes to mind when you mention your defense.

                good to see their are some sane UNLV fans, after the initial pisssed offedness i am looking forward to a good game between our teams
                Oh, and let me make this perfectly clear to you people: you go to UNI, NOT IOWA. The Hawkeyes and their fans do not give a crap if you remain "true to them" or some stupid self-fulfulling bullcrap like that.-OTP

                  Bucknell did beat Kansas the last time they played in Oklahoma City and UNI also lost to Wisconsin.

                    I am telling you right now. UNI panthers can beat Kansas. They will not respect us and they will think we will roll over. We will not roll over. Jordan will play the game of his life and Ali and Moran will be on fire. This is the biggest game in their hole life and they will play like it. Kansas is going down and I mean it. I know this sounds crazy but when UNI shoots the ball they are as good as anyone. This can happen and you all must believe it!!!

                              Roy Williams was giving Coach Jacobsen tips to beat Kansas at the State tournement. It's true I saw it on TV. Also I am sorry I misspelled "whole" I know that upsets some of you brainiacs.
