I think Jake wins this round pretty easily. Overall favorite would have to be Steve Alford though. Probably the best shooter in the field. How sweet it would be for Jake to beat Alford head to head though

pretty awesome contest. is there a full list of participants anywhere?

i know jake and the mayor are in it. what about McCaffery? he was a great player too. i have to assume Phelps didnt play because he is 5 inches shorter than me and always looks like he just woke up.

the smart money has to be on hoiberg, alford or izzo.

I would have to pick Tom Izzo. I remember a few years back college gameday did a story on how many free throws he shoots and that he challenges his players in practice. I think they said something like its not a stretch for him to make over 300 (or some ridiculous amount, maybe more than 300) in a row.

pretty much a given Izzo makes the final 4 isn't it
"I think they're very good," Farley said of the preseason top 25 Hawkeyes. "But so are we."

Here is the head coaches bracket...

            And the assistants...

                Re: Coaches Free Throw Contest

Arizona's coach has like one of the top FT percentages in NCAA history so we can't count him out either. I don't see Izzo in it.

that would be a good sweet 16 matchup, Jake vs. Miller

Jake was not a Great FT shooter, more a assist guy......Good Luck! Ben

Coach Jake went 20/25 from the FT line to score 24 points. Unfortunately, Bill Self went 21/25 and beat Jake by 1 with 25 points.

The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

And the Jayhawks get a small measure of revenge from last March....I have to wonder if they intentionally matched up Self and Coach Jake based on recent history.

Funny cuz his team lost it at the free throw line tonight, too. Had they shot as well as coach they would have won, however.

Update from Register that Hoiberg is in the semi-finals. Interesting that he beat Alford in quarters when both made 25 of 25 they decided to see who could make the most in a row. Alford made 52 and Hoiberg MADE 102 STRAIGHT. Pretty impressive.

I don't understand how some of these coaches can just make it rain like that. I've heard Izzo has made like hundreds in a row (obviously that statement has no credibility). I mean how often do players go on streaks like that?
