Oh do I miss the Big Wheel. Did anyone have the Green Machine?? I was so envious of my neighbor who had one of those. The Big Wheel and bare feet made a bad combination - lost a few toenails that way.

Keno Davis might be out at Providence, I think he would be a nice fit at Bradley. He might be able to build a nice Valley Power with his style in talent rich Illinois.

I'm wondering if the Harv Schmidt mentioned in the PJStar article is the same one that was the Illinois coach back in the '60s. (Would be quite old by now!!)

He was our H.S. coach at Davenport West in the early '60s, moved over to Moline (Ill.), was an asst. at New Mexico under Bob King (who I think went to Indiana State but got sick before Larry Bird's breakout season), and then the Illini for a few seasons. I think he was forced out after a no-show-up jobs program for players by boosters was discovered. I think he was originally from Kankakee, Ill.

This is all in the dark ages for most of you Panther Pups!
