Wichita State will play either Colorado or Alabama for the NIT championship. They've been blowing through teams so far; hopefully they can finish it off and represent the Valley well.

Re: WSU in NIT Championship
I sure wish we could have held up our end of the bargain and done better than we did in the CIT. I know the tourneys aren't over yet, but it would have been great to have MVC teams win the NIT, CIT, and CBI.To avoid confusion - my username is baseball (Cy Young award) related, NOT for the Cyclones.

I will be cheering for the Shockers though!

Re: WSU in NIT Championship
The Shockers were never a serious bubble team, borne out by their 4th seed in the NIT, and nor should they have been a serious bubble team anyway.Originally posted by Marc Wigim View PostI'm a big fan of the Shockers making the NCAA committee look stupid on this one. Roll, Shocks!
That being written, they have certainly peaked at the right time and are playing very well. Absolutely blew out Washington State last night.

should have played like this ALL year. Can't lose games at home in a weak ass conferenceOriginally posted by UNIChippewa View PostThe Shockers were never a serious bubble team, borne out by their 4th seed in the NIT, and nor should they have been a serious bubble team anyway.

But their bubble burst by losing in the Bracket Buster on a controversial call with less than 1 second left to a very mediocre VCU team......er...wait...Originally posted by jnutt View Postshould have played like this ALL year. Can't lose games at home in a weak ass conference

also, as "weak" as our conference was this year, it is still stronger than most (if not all) mid-major leagues. We just beat up on each other and that looks bad to the committee... Where conferences like the Big Ten and Big East beat up on each other all season and what does the committee do?..... they reward everyone with a .500 record with a tourny bidJohn 3:16

Just shows that mid majors are overlooked far too often...Originally posted by Panther-Sheik View PostBut their bubble burst by losing in the Bracket Buster on a controversial call with less than 1 second left to a very mediocre VCU team......er...wait..."In the wild, there is no health care. They also get to play those games at home most of the time, where mid-majors are forced to travel for all their quality non-conference games.Originally posted by PantherN8 View PostBig Ten and Big East schools win relevant non-conference games too though..John 3:16
