GO PANTHERS! -
that's awesome, it nice to see these major media outlets sending some love the Panthers way. I can't wait for Sunday's game. Go Panthers!! -
UCLA, Illinois, Wake Forest.
Just thought I'd point out the schools SI thinks are roughly in the same area as UNI.
I mean this, I didn't think this sort of thing was possible.Comment

I love SI has four covers this year so four teams are cursed. Its so pretty seeing the UNI logo perched firmly above the gold and black blob, with a cyclone no where in sight.
North, def: To be above something
Northern Iowa, def: The state of being above Iowa, to be Iowa's supperior at all things, to be above all other schools in Iowa, to be the best.Comment

even better than having the Panthers above Iowa in the rankings.....did anyone realize they were ahead of the 2 teams that played in the national title game last year? granted, UNC will be down, but being ranked ahead of Illinois (my second favorite team) just makes me excited!

Wait, you can't have a second favorite team!Originally posted by B.True
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

I realize that SI used the term "small school" in a positive light (one of those "Little guy makes some noise" type things), but I wonder if they realize that UNI is four times the size of Wake Forest in enrollment.

Probably not. Course with Wake being out east ESPN follows them very closely.Originally posted by Ontheprowl04I realize that SI used the term "small school" in a positive light (one of those "Little guy makes some noise" type things), but I wonder if they realize that UNI is four times the size of Wake Forest in enrollment. If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. It's pretty much the same thing with Duke tooCoach Whisenhunt 1/18/09. "There was never any complaints about not being named the starter, all he wanted was an opportunity and he took advantage of it. Kurt is probably one of the greatest individuals you'll ever meet. Kurt worked hard on a lot of things that a lot of times older quarterbacks aren't willing to do. That's a credit to his humility and his competitive drive, and the reason that we are here today in great part is what Kurt Warner has done for us."Comment
