  • First Bracketology of the Season

Joe Lunardi's first Bracketology of the season is on espn.com http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology

Predictions that don't mean anything yet but fun to look at.

    He's got...

UNI at a 7 seed playing 10 seed Notre Dame
Creighton is the only other MVC team at an 11 seed playing 6 seed Wake Forest(Creighton is also under the heading "Last Four In")
    Iowa's a 6 seed playing 11 seed Vanderbilt
Iowa State's an 8 seed playing 9 seed Washington

Wouldn't that be fun to see UNI lay a whipping on ND. Especially after watching Digger and his LOOK AT ME I SUPPORT ND TIE during the selection discussions.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

We could buy him a purple tie, he'd find a purple marker to wave around, and we could cram them both straight up his rear.

I don't care what we're seeded (okay, I do a little bit), where we play, and who it is. I want to beat someone in the NCAA and play in the second weekend.

Just think only a couple of more days and we can talk about something involving basketball other then preseason predictions! I seriously envy all of you that get to be in Des Moines for the tip off. Should be a great opening to "UNI's most highly-anticipated men's basketball season ever" (www.unipanthers.com).

Oh, and I'm all for shoving anything up of Digger's arse.

What a fitting 100th post, me bashing ESPN commentators just like in 97 of the previous 99

with the Irish in the big east...i doubt they will make the tournament this year. i like chris quinn, but i don't see it happening unless that conference gets like 9 teams in...

FYI...in that bracket, if UNI won in the first round, and upset #2 OU in the 2nd round, there could be a Sweet 16 matchup with Iowa.

Granted, that is a totally hypothectical bracket.

Wouldn't that be something sweet to see. Can you imagine the hype in this state over something like that. One game at a time.

It would be fun, but rarely would a real bracket end up like that and I'm not sure that Iowa will be in the tourney to even get a chance to play UNI.
