I like how the announcers were talking about how this game was a disservice to VCU. Cmon Panthers, prove them wrong!

The way the Panther are playing I can see why they would say that. Nothing good comes from beating UNI for VCU.

Now, if UNI somehow turns the corner and wins the MVCT, maybe that helps VCU by beating an AQ team.

I disagree. A win at VCU would be a tremendous statement for UNI. We haven't lost a home game to a non-conference opponent since the 2007-08 season.

The way the UNI is playing, if they don't win the MVCT they won't get in even if the beat VCU.

I know it's been said before, but it is nice to see how far UNI has come. It doesn't seem that long ago when UNI was just another mid-major team. But we're definitely more than that now. ESPN did us a favor both last year and this year. They want us to be a consistently solid mid-major. They want us to be a dangerous team. Maybe the players will be fired up now after getting this matchup with VCU. They played tough against George Mason last year. Hopefully they'll play tough against the Rams, too (and maybe pull out a win).

I don't think they'd do the return game next year, because we might already play in the Battle for Atlantis. If so, tho, our already stacked non-con schedule would be even better

Well we got the Siena game the next year. I'm pretty sure there is no rule, the returns are decided by the AD's, depending on where schedules need to be balanced

To each their own opinion I still personally think espn didnt do a whole lot for the valley, especially in terms of our top teams. i actually do feel bad for creighton and wichita st...was looking at their boards. shockers especially are not happy, which i cant blame them for. theyre really in a no win situation...win it doesnt help their case to get into the tourney as Davidson is not a top 50 rpi team, lose and they are almost guaranteed not to make the tournament. creighton, while its not their ideal match up, and really wont help them that much if they win, and would hurt them if they lose, wouldnt mean theyd lose their tournament bid either. ill root for all our teams come BB weekend though. go valley!

You have 2 years to play them, so the return could be next year or the following year.

I honestly think the best thing about the Bracket Buster is the return game. We've been fortunate enough to get some pretty good games out of them so far.

I don't think Wichita will be out with a loss to Davidson. Initially I thought the MVC got screwed, but in the long run I think they set up the Valley in a no lose situation. The only way Creighton or Wichita don't get in is if either has a massive collapse down the stretch. If you think a loss to Davidson KO's Wichita, then what did the loss to Drake do? They set up Wichita with a team they should murder, and if/when they do, on national TV, it'll be a big boost for them. They gave UNI a good game that they need for ANY chance at an at large. Granted, I don't think they'll get an at large, but they are in a position to get red hot and put it in the committees mind.
