Johnnnnnnny MMMorannnnn!

[06panther10]

I just cannot believe that this guy is playing his last game in the McLeod Center on Wednesday night. Where did time go?

It literally seems like just yesterday that we were reading about his commitment on PN. I remember PTTB talking about how this kid we were getting was pretty good and could challenge for playing time from day 1 on campus. Turns out Johnny started from day 1, and never looked back.

Johnny Moran is truly one of the great Panthers of all time, and it has been a real pleasure watching him play these last 4 years. The never ending hustle, the big time shots, the millions of charges that he took, and so many big wins.

I hope everyone can make the extra effort to come out and honor him on Senior day this Wednesday.

He hit a big straight on three against Kansas with about 4 minutes left when KU had just pulled within 3. Huge shot in that game!!!

The lasting Johnny Moran image will be the huge fist pump at the end of the 10-2 run to start the Kansas game.

Johnny Mo!

I most remember the end of the ku game when they tried to roll the ball up court and johnny came diving across the floor to try to slap it away.

That's how u do it.

So many good memories from Johnny.

I'll also never forget the huge fist pump after the great start during the Kansas game. He also caught the last inbound pass to end the game and immediately sprinted to the UNI section, pointing to the crowd.

This team will miss Moran more than we expect next year.

Re: Johnnnnnnny MMMorannnnn!

Coach, when you have Johnny on the floor in front of us all for Senior Night, ask him to show us all his scars, scabs and bruises from his endless hustle, and his 'turned up to eleven' desire to win. You set the standard #13, for leaving it all on the court.

Re: Johnnnnnnny MMMorannnnn!

How about this team honor the lone senior by going on a 5 game winning streak? That's the only way I think he should go out...in the NCAA's.

A lot of great shots and big moments. Always remember him diving for that inbound late in the game against Kansas.

That moment certainly stands out in my mind as well. It was a "oh shi!t this might be a tough game" moment for the Jayhawks. As someone else pointed out, the 3 he hit late in the game was so huge as well. We were reeling, and we really needed someone to make a play and he stepped up and hit the shot. Very underrated play of that game.

I also remember him fearlessly stepping up and hitting a game winning 3 on the road at Bradley as a true freshman. Awesome shot.

How about a couple of game-winners that "could" have been. Just last week at Evansville, he hit the big go ahead shot only to be outdone by a banked in 3 from the Aces. Or how about the big shot against MSU at home last year? Only to be outdone by Weems at the buzzer.

That's my favorite memory as well. I remember laughing at the time at what a typical Johnny move it was. No one hit the floor for his team more often than Johnny Moran.

Thanks to him.

Wow. How time flies. One of my favorite moments was at Bradley (his Frosh year I think) when he hit a 3 to seal the win at the end.

I wish there was a stat for how many times a player hits the court diving for loose balls.
