2 Million?!

I just read that each team that has agreed to play in the Battle 4 Atlantis will receive 2 million dollars....dear lord. How much did we receive back in 2010 with our NCAA tourney wins?

This tournament might help more than just our RPI.

I believe it is $2 million shared between the 8 teams.

I have not seen any additional info on the payouts. It would be hard to believe that the sponsoring company would be spending $16 M (8 teams x $2 M each) to have a 3 day event. HDnet doesn't have that kind of $$$.

Travel will be at least $50-100,000 im guessing.

i dont know who runs the actual event but i know the atlantis filed for chapter 13 (i think) BK last year.

Atlantis ownership was already handed over to the bond holders last year.

Talking with Troy Dannen today, he said the tournament is paying UNI $150,000 to participate. By comparison, normal exempt tournaments (South Padre, Las Vegas, etc.) cost UNI about that much.

Wow, that is huge! This is one hell of an opportunity for UNI financially and competitively... Really need a strong performance.
