I seem to recall reading that UNI will be auctioning off the uniforms from last nights game for charity. Does anyone have any details on when/where (if?) this auction will take place? Thanks in advance.

I talked to the equipment guy at UNI and he said that there was a delay in posting though eBay and they should up no later than Tuesday• Best in-game gimmicks: UNI-Dome, Northern Iowa

Were those really throw-back uniforms, from game film i have seen they wore short-shorts not the knee-length shorts the guys wore last night. or was it just the tops that were throw-back. I was in row 2 of the permanant seating and had a very dissapointed middle-aged women sitting behind me who came to see the short shorts of old.Oh, and let me make this perfectly clear to you people: you go to UNI, NOT IOWA. The Hawkeyes and their fans do not give a crap if you remain "true to them" or some stupid self-fulfulling bullcrap like that.-OTP
What i say are my opinions and mine alone, and not that of anyone associated with me.

Outside of the lettering and striping, not a lot of difference. In fact had you not been told, people probably would have just wondered why the uniforms looked just a little different. I don't think the short-shorts were ever part of the plan (thankfully)Originally posted by pantherclawWere those really throw-back uniforms, from game film i have seen they wore short-shorts not the knee-length shorts the guys wore last night. or was it just the tops that were throw-back. If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

Just checked and they are still not up on the panther website. I heard that they hoped to have them up sometime today. Go to http://unipanthers.com and click on auctions. If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. Just wanted to pass along that several jerseys & shorts are up for sale. Not to be critical but to gain more exposure on these they should have put "Northern Iowa" in the title and not just "UNI". If it had not been for the link provided above to the Panthers website and clicking on "Auctions", I would have never found them. Also, unless I am way off base $100 opening for the shorts may be a bit high and just a waste of the listing fees. Even pro shorts from the Bulls can usually be had for around forty dollars. I think they may have drawn more action if they put the uniform together (shorts & jersey) and started the bidding at $150. That being said I plan on bidding on a jersey for my den. If any family member or friend of a particular player plans on bidding on a jersey please post below because I do not want to outbid someone that really wants a particular player.

Yeah, they need to have a posting on their main page directing them to the auction. I went to the auction link, but I don't know how many actually know there is an auction link off of the main unipanthers.com main page. The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. yeah, so a little off the subject, but not really....i wore my vintage 1999 UNI basketball game shorts today at noonball that i bought at an equipment sale that Nurse ran back in like 2001....man i love those shorts....complete with an MVC patch and everything...
if the Athletic Department ever does an equipment sale again, i may need to employ a fellow panthernation member to pick up some gear for me ... seriously, let me know if they are ever going to do this again!!!

I bought a basketball jersey at that sale. Its funny how those work. The fans could get the jerseys and shorts cheaper than the players could. I tried to buy jerseys and shorts from Nurse and I would have had to pay $60 a piece for them. Its not because they were gonna use them again the next season, because it was already known that there was gonna be new uni's for the next year. That kinda tict me off, cuz I went to the sale and all the stuff was sold by the time I got there and they were only selling the stuff for $25 a piece. Sorry, just my little vent on that subject.

I think the link is down on the auction site to bid on the jerseys. You can see what the last bid was/is, but when you click to bid on it, it says, "the page cannot be displayed". They might want to fix this. I like the shorts...am pondering...
