Jake gets honorable mention. I assume that Marshall will be top 5-10 but there are no other MVC coaches on the list.

Yes but they have Fran at #33.

    Fran is a terrible coach.

      Re: ESPN Top Coaches

The article says, "Last week, we asked a panel of nearly 100 ESPN writers, editors, broadcasters and researchers to rate college basketball coaches on all aspects of running a program, on a scale of 1-10."

So, these rankings are based on 100 surveys who each rated 350 coaches? Seriously, how many could accurately evaluate even 10 coaches? And how many really know anything about our program?

This reminds me of the early college program rankings in which Harvard got ranked in the Top 10 for a program it didn't even have!

I think this is a very positive thing. I don't really care how scientific it is, I look at it as how highly regarded your (our) coach is in media circles. And when you look at the others on the Honorable Mention list, I think this is really great.

Honorable Mention means that they rank him above nearly 300 other coaches.

It's a positive thing. It shows how well respected he is. We are lucky to have him.
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."
