Re: Up Next: Virginia Commonwealth

In my opinion this is another must win, a loss won't be "bad" on our resume, but a win would get us a lot of national attention

if a loss wouldn't be bad, how could it be a "must win?"

Re: Up Next: Virginia Commonwealth

the age old question. I'm pretty every game is a must win somehow...i mean who wants to lose really? Well outside of Magic Johnson and the Lakers.

Re: Up Next: Virginia Commonwealth

now..this is a must win for VCU...or so they believe.

they started that thing this last week.

Go Panthers!

Re: Up Next: Virginia Commonwealth

VCU has a top 25 RPI so this would be a huge road win for us! The next two games are against quality opponents. I don't think it's the end of the world if we lost both, but I would like to see us at least split the two games.

I honestly believe if we want an at-large bid this year we have to do these two things:
1.) At least split these four games: @VCU, Iowa in Des Moines, Wichita State, @ Wichita State.
2.) Don't suffer any bad losses. We may be able to drop a couple MVC games on the road to someone like Evansville or Illinois State (maybe Missouri State) but that's probably about it.

These next two games are our toughest of the non-conf season. A split would be huge, and winning both would be excellent.

We go 2-0 these next two weeks, and we might be looking at a top 15 ranking heading into MVC play.

Do you just copy and paste this to every game preview thread? Getting very old very fast. It's like the little boy who cried wolf. To save you the trouble we all know that the Iowa game is a must win also.

It's certainly not a must win but it is a HUGE game. Would sure be nice to not only stay in the polls but move up. Then if we have a slip up against Iowa maybe we stay in top 25.

Re: Up Next: Virginia Commonwealth

We won't be ranked with a loss unless we get to 25-1 or so.

Hey, if it is working why would I stop saying it?

[06panther10]

Yeah, we are ranked, 9-0, and this is a road game against a good team. Far from a must win.

Re: Up Next: Virginia Commonwealth

Talk about conflicting styles of play. Denver is methodical and VCU has their Havoc. Deon had a great game out there 3 years ago in BB so I would hope with he and Wes, there would be more of an ability to handle the press/defense. With their defense, corner 3's are usually open. If Bo, Paul, Nate, and Jeremy are hitting, it could be a big time boost. This will be a fun game. I'm very much looking forward to it.
