Thought it'd be interesting to see what the difference was in attendance between those 2 historic seasons. A win Saturday and UNI matches the 09/10 season for the same great start at 22-2.
A number that really stuck out to me was the our Capacity crowd is listed at 7050. (Was listed at that for the WSU game this year but the season finale in 09/10 was against ISUr and was over 7300 listed. How? The suites were built already back then weren't they? (I am assuming there was over 7050 there saturday btw!)
2009-2010 HOME attendance - Highest - 7366 - sell out, lowest - 3102 vs. Wyoming
Over 6000 7 times
Over 7000 2 times (Old Dominion, ISUr)
Avg. Saturday Attendance - 5 games (NIU, Siena, ISUb, SIU, ISUr) - 6,032 (ranked for 2 games)
Avg. Sunday Attendance - 1 game (MSU) - 4666
Avg. Weekday attendance - 6 games - 5286 (ranked for 1 game)
2014-2015 HOME attendance - Highest 7050 - Sell out, WSU, Lowest - 3081 vs. Richmond
Over 6000 3 times (11/28 a FRIDAY (second highest), 1/21 a WEDNESDAY, and vs. WSU, a Sat.
Over 7000 1 time (WSU)
Avg. Saturday attendance - 4 games (UND, UNF, GMU, WSU) - 4605 (Mainly due to WSU game hike). - ranked for 1 game
Avg. Sunday Attendance - 4 games (Rich, SDSU, Loyola, MSU) - 4867 -ranked for 3 games
Avg. Weekday games - 3 games (Morg st., SIU, ISUb) - 4414 - ranked for 1 game
Our attendance has gone up every game the last 3 home games to a sell out.
In 2009 the team wasn't ranked until Jan 19th poll and were ranked a total of 9 weeks during the reg season (longest stretch of 5 weeks, reaching as high as 19).
This year we began being ranked during the 12/10 poll week and have been ranked 13 weeks this year and 14 as our highest. We are riding a 8 week ranked streak and NOW the fans start coming? I just don't get it. Happy where the team is at and how well they are playing and happy the fans are finally showing up.
I wonder if this team could beat the 2009 team?
Sorry, was bored at work. End of post.
