Man...that hurts. As much for next year as this one. Means McCloud is certainly gonna play next year, and will probably have to pick up some pretty major minutes at PG as a freshman.

Having Austin as a potential starting PG, or at worst a high minutes contributor off the bench would have been a huge luxury.

At least we open up another scholarship for next year.

This is disappointing to see. I was looking at the box scores this past weekend and noticed that his playing time greater increased after Klint returned, but I never thought he'd just up and transfer out of the program.

So he'll have one year of eligibility wherever he ends up?

Dang, and I was just thinking the other day that seems like Jake has done a much better job in recent years of getting players here that stay for their entire career.

I exoect Haldeman to play a lot and well next year, McCloud as well.

Will be interesting to see what happens with the extra opening now. A disappointing transfer though.

This is an interesting development. I think you guys will be fine, barring any injuries. If one or two people go down throughout the course of the year, you might have to pull a shirt. WSU has seen far too well how injuries can affect a team, and when healthy WSU has a solid 12 man rotation. With only having 8-9, I hope for all of the MVCs sake, you guys can stay healthy.

He's a nice young man. He learned a valuable lesson in May. I hope he finds happiness.

Does anyone know why he transferred? He seemed to play quite a few minutes in a few games.

“His only reason for wanting to move on to another school was being in a situation where he was going to play more,” Jacobson said. “

isn't he going to have to sit out a year?

9 games and calling it quits? Didn't see this coming, maybe it's for the better. He sure doesn't seem like much of a team player considering this. He knew the situation coming in. I guess we're not losing much production, but we're an injury away from being in big trouble depth wise.

What would be the rules regarding eligibility if he wanted to transfer back to DMACC or another lower tier school?

Could he go NAIA without sitting out? Just curious.

He's used up his JuCo eligibility. He could go to a lower tier and be eligible at the beginning of next season. Don't think he could play right next semester anywhere

Edit: Upon more thought, I would think he would sit out til the semester at any NCAA school as he only has 1.5 years left, doesn't make sense to end midway through a season. Not sure how that would convert to a NAIA school.
