Will Jeremy be 1st team all conference?

Most Valley fans have the first team loaded with Wichita and Illinois State players, which is understandable, those two teams dominated the competition, and then add in Johnson from MoSt. I for one have difficulty leaving Jeremy off of the 1st team with how he impacts the game in so many ways, leading us in every category. I know you could make the arguments that he has fallen off in big games, and that it is more of a reflection of the rest of our team. But two years ago when Wichita and us were clearly the top two teams we only had one player on the first team while Evansville who finished 6th had two.

He isn't. And shouldn't be.

He just didn't play well enough in games against the Top 2 to justify it. 2nd team seems fair.

It does appear that Doyle was given a lifetime achievement award. That's a joke. Should be Hawkins. He carried Illinois State while McIntosh was out.

That bolded part can be taken 2 ways though. If he was leading you guys in every category and you were having a good year its a really big positive. The fact that he's leading you guys and you have had a horrible year says more about the rest of the team than it does Morgan.

2nd team is just about right. He had a rough 2nd half of the conference it seems. I wonder how much his ankle really bothered him.

But there are players from 2 teams that finished below us in that standings on the 1st team, and not only did he lead us, he finished top 10 if not top 5 in almost all of these categories in the league.

Yet again, I think the consensus around the league is that Morgan led you guys in so many categories (and then by default put him pretty high in the league) because the rest of the team was really really bad this year. Not trashing Morgan at all. He's a great player. I think he's probably the 6th selection. I'd move Doyle down, but probably have Hawkins up at the 5th then Morgan as the 6th. Though really, its all a coin flip between Hawkins, McIntosh, Johnson, Morgan in my opinion for that 5th spot.

UNI was 4 games out of last Place, and 8 games away from second.

If we add a bigger factor of where a players team finishes, Morgan is still on second team behind some combination of McIntosh, Hawkins and maybe even Frankamp, Morris

I have no problem with any of the picks. JM did not play well the last 3 games of the year. I would have liked to see Ashton make the Newcomer team, but not sure who you could take off. The poor offensive numbers of the team just did not give these 2 the opportunity to put up numbers necessary to get those honors.

I'm curious as to how Spencer made the All-Freshman team? Didn't feel like he had that great of a year, especially the 2nd half of the conference season. Was there just a lack of freshman receiving playing time this year in the conference?

He still made a bunch of 3s and averaged 7 points. Just fell apart at the end.
