Those free throws were big. What is the guess on when Adam Viet will be playing again?
"Lot of people talked about Ohio State or Georgetown or Michigan State or whoever, [or] Maryland in our bracket. When the brackets came out, the first team I looked at was Northern Iowa," Kansas Coach Bill Self.

Viet is slated on returning to practice Wednesday but it sounds like that is a very optimistic return date at best. Will probably take another week to get him back to full strength on that knee. Hopefully he just sits until it is completely healed. I know an extra sharp shooter available while Crawford is out is something that we'd all like to have but here's to hoping that he just gets 100% then comes back to make an impact. TravO has done a great job taking on the role asked of him without a doubt (cool customer w/ the free throws late). A question debated among myself and some other Panther faithful...would you rather play Travis or a 100% Viet?? Both are offensive kids...Viet's 3 point ability and third year with Mac's offense? Travis's instant playmaking ability? Both are great players and the competition between the two once Viet is healthy will lead to nothing but positives and bench development.

I saw him play this summer at the PT League and from the start knew he was going to contribute whenever he got the chance to play. He has a very natural court awareness.

Mac's comments on the post game last night indicated a back injury. Might be a while before he's back.
If computers ruled college basketball the way they do football, we'd have skipped all this March Madness monotony and just waited a month for the Kansas-Kentucky title game. And watched Northern Iowa play Cornell in the Poulan Weedeater Bowl. ~ Dwight Perry The Seattle Times

I think he is a player that will help us transition from the loss of BJ, J-Lit and EkC next year much easier than expected.

I believe that the back injury was a problem coming into the season that he had over the summer and now Adam's back is OK. I believe that the issue now is the leg problem.

Viet has battled back issues this year, while the knee injury (bone bruise diagnosis as previously stated) is the current issue. Both could actually be issues, as when knee injuries occur, it can affect gait patterns (that "walking style" word again), which can really affect a person's back (due to compensation or over-compensation). If he had back issues before the injury, he probably has some lingering back issues now, even though he has been relaxing his back and not going full strength in practices or other leisurely workouts.
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

UNI fans like Travis. I think we all believe that with hard work he can be great for the Panthers! This season, it appears that he's working hard, understands his role and when he's called upon...he can produce. So, I ask this, what's NOT to like about him? I think he has a chance to be very good. Keep up the good work Travis.

Travis is still young and people are still looking for the old guys to be big, but I am very excited to see what Travis can do next year with EColeman and Grant down low, Brooks, Williams, Jostens and Kwadzo (if not redshirted) at point and Veit on the wing, its gonna be another fun year and I think Travo will be next in line to be the BMOC for the Panthers, well as long as Coleman doesnt eat him or something
