  • Valley gets some love from Andy Katz

Katz Wed afternoon live chat at ESPN.com

"Jay (DC): Isn't the Big 10 a tad overrated? The top 7 teams have just two wins over teams currently ranked in the Top 25 (BC and UNC) and have lost to teams like Indiana State, Northern Iowa and Hawaii, among others. They just padded their totals with wins over easy teams. Seven bids for this conference is a joke.

Andy Katz: (4:41 PM ET ) First of all those three games you listed were all on the road -- at Indiana State (Indiana), at Northern Iowa (Iowa) and at Hawaii (Michigan State). I'd like to see any team, and I mean any team, go to UNI and see how easy it is to escape with a win. A number may (like Duke) but it wouldn't be easy. Here is my early prediction on the Big Ten: Michigan State, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio State and Iowa will all get bids. Michigan could be on the outside looking in."

"BRYAN (WICHITA KS): RUN DOWN THE MVC FOR THE COLLEGE FANS WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE GREAT TEAMS IN THE VALLEY

Andy Katz: (4:43 PM ET ) I watch a fair amount of MVC games on the FSN package. The Valley produces plenty of quality games, intense competition and usually packed houses. All I know is that Wichita State, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois and Creighton can hang with any team on their homecourts. I wouldn't be shocked to see this league get four bids again. Two to three might end up being more realistic but nothing would surprise me with this league."

CU fan, being a little rude all things considered, but I know that most CU fans are not like this and are very happy to escape the dome of doom with a W, and that was one CLOSE game.

"Nick(Omaha,NE): You said only Duke and other big schools could win at Northern Iowa and it would be a fight. Creighton just went in their last week and came out with a win winning almost the whole game.

Andy Katz: (4:59 PM ET ) Well, that's a fellow MVC team that is familar there so I stand by what I said. "

I suppose Jay is an ACC or Big East fan and a moron.
"Lot of people talked about Ohio State or Georgetown or Michigan State or whoever, [or] Maryland in our bracket. When the brackets came out, the first team I looked at was Northern Iowa," Kansas Coach Bill Self.

Im betting its actually Jay Bilas, Katz's fellow World Wide Leader bball crew. And Bilas is all three of those, and ACC, Big Ten Fan, and a moron. Just my opinion.

Not to mention Crawford went down in the middle of that game. The panthers really had no time (since it happened in the middle of the game) to prepare for something like that in the middle of the game. notice that when the panthers and coaching staff have had time to make a game plan without crawford, we are 2 and 0 with a win against SIU...

...And not to mention that it wasn't like the Creighton game was some sort of easy win for CU like the poster is making it out to sound, even with Crawford's injury.

Creighton fan must have forgotten that the game was tied with under a minute to go and they needed the Panthers to miss a back door play and have a gift foul to get to the free throw line on the next possession.

(is that what it feels like to be a whining fan? I didn't like it...so I'll stop )
