  • Through the wonders of cable TV...

...I got to see UNI play for the first time this year on Saturday. I am exiled up here in WI, with a so-so cable package. Not too loud now, UNI MadCat doesn't like negative WI talk, i.e. "exiled".)

Anyway, what an absolute shooting display!! The things that struck me most from last year are Stout's continued improvement; Coleman's paint presence and passing ability really open up the three; and other guys contributions such as McKowen.

I think my cable system has them at least two more times before the MVC tournament. For those of you fortunate to find yourself in the promised land (Iowa, more specifically near Cedar Falls) count yourself very fortunate if you're able to take in a game at the Dome if you wish! I long for those days.

If you are able to get to your local sports grill or pub, you might be able to get the UNI/Creighton game on ESPNU next Tuesday night. Don't forget about the ESPN2 game at the end of the year with SIU.
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

It's so great to see the team on TV this often. Hopefully we'll see even more games televised next year.

Class of 1990, who is your cable provider?
"Lot of people talked about Ohio State or Georgetown or Michigan State or whoever, [or] Maryland in our bracket. When the brackets came out, the first team I looked at was Northern Iowa," Kansas Coach Bill Self.

Charter Communications. Not a bad system; it's just not as Iowa-centric as you would hope for (UNI, etc.), being fully mindful that I live in WI, and only 90 miles from Minneapolis, and it's very understandable what dictates the sports coverage around here. I'm happy being able to see the Panthers 2-5 times a year, I just wish it was more.
