  • Tickets for Drake vs. UNI this Saturday

It looks like I may be headed to Iowa City on Friday for an event and as luck would have it, UNI is playing somewhere in the state so I'm thinking of taking a little detour and go the DSM route on Saturday on my way back to Minneapolis and take in the Drake/UNI game.

I noticed that tickets are aplenty on the website.

Folks that have attended games at the Knappy... should I assume there are tickets aplenty outside or just buy ahead?

The one thing I like about buying ahead is that Drake uses Ticket Return and you can pick your seat. However, while $15 isn't a ton of money, if people think I'll find seats for $5-10 outside, I'll do that. I just know that sometimes you go to stadiums that aren't full and you can't even find scalpers outside - I had this experience last year when I attended a Northwestern/DePaul game.

    Any help would be great!!

Its a 3:00 game on a Saturday afternoon and interest in Drake is waning (if it was ever high in the first place). It wasn't sold out last year and after the beatdown we laid on them Saturday, I'm going to venture a guess that there won't be a lot of LOCAL interest in this game as evidenced by the lack of sales so far.

You can never go wrong by buying ahead, thats what me and Jeg are doing.

For those with tickets already, why don't you post your seats so that UNI fans can sit in areas that are going to be occupied by UNI fans also.
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

I probably will do that just b/c it's not too expensive. It's not like Carver where its always 1/2 full but face "value" of tix is like $30.

I called the Drake Ticket office Monday and ordered tickets for Saturday's game. I requested tickets in the UNI cheering section - hopefully our seats
            will be.

I think you can still order tickets through the UNI Alumni Association and they are having an event at the Holiday Inn Express on 24th St. near the Drake campus before the game! I would encourage you to attend...last year the Knapp was full of a lot of purple and gold...I hope that's the case this year as well! I think I'm in a group of 20! Everyone should make an effort to get to this game. I'd love the Knapp to be the UNI-DOME South this Saturday and the guys would love the support.

I think it will be. Even if we don't outnumber them, we'll be louder.

I'd like to go to that event as well but I can't get to town until right before tip (probably another reason to order tix).

FYI for those who haven't been or have forgotten: Section S is east bleachers next to the floor, access by the 'concourse' above. Sections 16, 17, 18 and the like are the north bleachers. Stay out of the first five rows of the north bleachers; the rail above the lower seats obscures the view.
