Both have UNI as a 7th seed, and 4 MVC teams.
"Lot of people talked about Ohio State or Georgetown or Michigan State or whoever, [or] Maryland in our bracket. When the brackets came out, the first team I looked at was Northern Iowa," Kansas Coach Bill Self.

If one team from the MVC wins the MVC tournament and also the regular season title I don't see them going any higher than a 5th seed. Not if the MVC as a conference maintains a 5th or 6th RPI rank among all conferences. Maybe it's just wishful thinking.

I don't see how anybody gets higher then a 5 either. If we had won out (including Creighton) then I thought we were in line for a 4, but I don't see any of us getting there now.

      Funny, I see a 7 and think "damn"....but who'd have dreamt of a 7 before!

I'm sure some may have had us pegged for 30-0 and a #1 seed

Realistically, I see us finishing 25-5, with at least one more tourney win for 24 D1 wins and that should be good for a 6 seed, which I think is ideal. We get a game we should win Rd 1, I think the parity that will be among teams seeded 3-6 with a short prep time for a 3 seed trying to get ready for all of our sets in Rd 2. Advantage us. That gets us to the Sweet 16 with a week to prepare for a 2 seed, then another short turnaround for a 1 seed to get ready for us. Indy anyone?

Call me crazy, but if we are a #7 seed, I like the potential gmaes with UAB and then probably Villanova in the second round. They run a 4-guard offense and they're not going to wow the Panthers with a ton of size. They are a very talented team obviously...but I think that the Panthers could match-up and knock off the Wildcats in this scenario. I'll take Benny J, Brooks, Erik and J-Lit vs. the Villanova guards

The only problem is if that game is played in Philadelphia (Nova is not the host school for that site). They will have a huge crowd, and over the past 3 seasons in the NCAA Tournament, a team that has a "home court" advantage usually comes out on top.

I don't know about many of you guys, but my goal for the team was to simply win an NCAA tournament game this year. If we do that the rest of what we accomplish is gravy. Having only 5 losses at the point in the season is remarkable and to be a potenial 5 or 6 seed is unreal.

You're right, but lets be greedy and hope for 2.
