  • Creighton wins over Evansville

Gary Rima just reported. Creighton comes from behind and beats Evansville. Gary indicated that was bad but I think we wanted Creighton to win to keep RPI up?

True enough about the RPI, but if Evansville had beaten them, we would have had first place all to ourselves.

Creighton loosing would have been very bad for everybody. That would have made two RPI 200+ losses, which makes us look bad and would have been murder for them had they lost again. SIU hung on to beat MSU, meaning MSU needs a win against us this weekend to keep any at-large hopes alive. They're going to be one hungry team comming into the Dome. That win keeps SIU out of bubble trouble for the moment as well (that would have been 3 straight L's, and two at home). While both of those wins don't help us in the conference race they help our RPI and keep 4 teams in the NCAA hunt.

Creighton still has to play SIU, at MSU and at WSU to close out their regular season. It's ok for them to lose to one of those teams...they just can't lose to the last place team in the league...it would have been detrimental to the conference RPI.

We can tie with SIU and WSU, but I don't want a tie with Creighton. That is what killed us in the tourn last year. Two years ago we won the tie breaker with Creighton and we all know how that storybook finish ended. Creighton has been scraping by these last two games. I think their luck is going to run out. Wouldn't be surprised to see them with 2 more losses by the end of the season.

Well...I just know this...if we're the one seed...I want Creighton to be the #2 or #3 seed...ON THE OPPOSITE side of the bracket...so the only time we could see them is Sunday afternoon.

If we're the #2 seed...I'd like Creighton to be the #1...once again...opposite side of the bracket.

I completely agree 2317. Plus a UNI-Creighton championship game, IMO would be huge for ratings. Everyone knows about Creighton and I am sure after all the pub that UNI is finally recieving people know who UNI is as well.

First things first, beat Missouri St Sat night.
