  • Overrated Chant

    PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!
If we beat Bucknell on Saturday, I sure hope no one is dumb enough to chant "Overrated" just because they are #24 and we are unrated. I don't feel like they are a better team than us and that is completely disrespectful to OUR team to chant that. If anything, we should be chanting "underrated" to show that the Panthers aren't geting proper respect.

I agree. I know it's the popular thing to do, but chanting overrated to a team you just beat is liking saying...we just beat a team that isn't as good as people think they are. I've never understood that.

Good Luck, I tried to spread this around at the Iowa game and it didn't work. I agree with all of you but because they do it at Duke people think they have to too

I was at a high school game up here the other day and the students were chanting it. I wanted to puke.

When we play Iowa that is the only game that some students attend so they think that it's ok to do the overrated chant. You just have too many people there to control them. Especially when they don't know what's going on for the most part. I think that it's stupid and we all know that Coach Mac doesn't like it. When we beat SIU at home 2 years ago and started to chant it Coach Mac was all the way across half-court giving us the cut throat motion. Needless to say it stopped quickly. I agree that we should just go with the U-N-I chant at the end of the game.
Coach Whisenhunt 1/18/09. "There was never any complaints about not being named the starter, all he wanted was an opportunity and he took advantage of it. Kurt is probably one of the greatest individuals you'll ever meet. Kurt worked hard on a lot of things that a lot of times older quarterbacks aren't willing to do. That's a credit to his humility and his competitive drive, and the reason that we are here today in great part is what Kurt Warner has done for us."

I don't care if people chant my home phone number on ESPN 2 as long as we get the win!!! I always hated the over-rated chant but it does get under the opponents skin. Go Panthers!

                    LET'S GO PAN-THERS!

I think an: M-V-C chant would be cool to...showing support for our league. When SMS played at Ole Miss in the NIT second round a few years back...the entire arena started the "S-E-C" chant and it was deafening.

I vote for 'MVC' to be chanted!
The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice, clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, and consumes his foes on every side; His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles; the mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness and all peoples will see His glory.

M-V-C chant gets my vote. I hated it when Creighton chanted overrated to us.
