#7 Northern Iowa vs #10... CREIGHTON???

Why do we consider these guys' experts again?

They do have 5 Valley teams in...when was this posted? Before or after 8:00 PM Central February 14th? They just haven't done what the Selection Committee will do...is move the teams around.

They have IOWA as a #2 seed. Wow. If Iowa wins the Big Ten...do they deserve a #2 seed? Nice to say we've got a "W" over a #2 seed.

If Iowa is the regular season Big 10 Champ they definately deserve a 2. They do have a top ten RPI

Well then, their 4 remaining games are pretty huge. Getting to the Sweet 16 is a ton easier if you're a #2 seed. I wonder if Iowa gets a Big Ten Championship (first one since 1979 - probably before any of the students who post on this board were born) and a #2 seed, will that alter people's opinions on Alford? If not...what will? (I've always felt Iowa fans were hyper-critical of Alford.)

I think Alford does a great job on the Bench. It's his recruiting that has gotten him in trouble, average players with questionable character is not a recipe for success.

And you heard it here first. If the Indiana job comes open, the next head coach there will be former Illinois St. Coach Kevin Stallings. Indiana's AD came from Vandy, and if you can be successful at a private SEC school, what can you do with the resources at Indiana??

Actually...Indiana's AD used to be at Illinois State when Stallings was there. If I remember correctly, Greenspan was at West Point and hired former Evansville coach Jim Crews while he was AD there. It would not surprise me if Greenspan wanted Stallings.

I still can't stand Stallings for the 'staring incident' during the Valley Tournament. BAP, what year was that? You want to talk about how one game can be officiated two completely different ways so obviously, they might as well have been different officials. It was sick. I want to say that was 1996 and I think it was a semi-final game...right?

I think it was a semi final in Eldon's last year... 1998 maybe??

Actually PTTB mentioned Stallings as a strong candidate for that job yesterday along with spelling out the relationship betweed Indy AD and KS.

We couldn't legally play Creigton in the first weekend. What a freaking joke.

IMHO, if Iowa wins the Big Ten Title, they deserve a 2 seed without winning a game in Indianapolis.

Also...diving into the Bracket a lot deeper...he has Weber State (10-14) as a #4 seed Obviously a typo...but come on...

I e-mailed him and commented politely on the indiscretions

For all the s*It that Alford has taken at Iowa over the last 5 years it would be pretty cool if he finished up his best season as a coach and then left them high and dry. There is only one thing to worry about then...

I could see Iowa as a #2 if they win the Big 10/11. That's why I would not be worried about a possible 7 seed other than a tougher first round game. i just don't see many dominating teams outside of a couple that will probably be 1's. It may still be dreaming, but if we play how we're capable, we can beat anyone. We beat Iowa with at best an average effort on the offensive side, probably slightly low, so it can be done.
