I hate to do this, but...

Play the way we played last night that puts us losing by 50 at SIU and getting smoked by Drake in the first round of the Valley Tournament. Can anyone say losing 5 of 6 down the stretch? I can, but the selection comittee can not!
I am gentle, loving fan, but every since I have been reading posts on this message board you seem extremely negative. Lose by 50 to SIU? So you are saying SIU is 30 pts better than the Bradley team we saw last night? Wow, I know that wasn't meant to take literally, but come on! I know I shouldn't be attacking one individual poster ( I really do apologize for that), but in another thread your exact quote was Let me put this into a football scenario for you meatheads out there. I am definitely not a meathead, and for two strongly disagree with your questioning of Crawford returning to the lineup. I know its a stupid analogy, but lets say Benny is our Jordan (just for comparative purposes) and Crawford is our Pippen. Do you think for one second that the Bulls would have thought twice about putting Pip back in the lineup even if there was any chance at all that he could contribute, absolutely not. I know its a stretch, but there is no way coach Mac doesnt play Crawford if he is avaliable!!

Please for the "casual" fan on here just looking to gain some knowledge of the program, let's try to stay as positive as possible. Oh yeah, and by the way, we are a LOCK for the NCAA tourney regardless of out next couple games, I am willing to bet you a very large sum of money on that one!

I give JegBomb huge props for pure Panther love and passion. But sorry Jeg your hoops knowledge could use some bolstering up. You are definitely one of the most aggresive fans I know, and there is nothing wrong with that contrary to what many believe.

But I do think trying to compare Basketball and Football is a very difficult thing to do, for anyone. They are just two very very very different games (yes I know this seems obvious, one is played with an elipse shaped ball with pointed ends, and one with spherical ball and hoops, but its much deeper than that.)

The two sports have very different philosophies and require very different approaches to game plan and strategy.

These are my opinions as a football player growing up in a basketball family. Which was always a tough thing to get around, its hard for non-bball players to see the sublties of the game, but ask a coach or ex-NCAA player sometime to watch a play and they will see things you had no idea were going on, same as if you were watching a FBall game with a bball player, you would see a lot more in a single play than they ever would. This is not directed at Jeg specifially he just is a vocal guy and makes a nice example. We all love sports and the panthers around here, but we dont know hoops like Mac and the boys, and all we can do is speculate.

EJ...what kind of a lab do you work in? I think you got a lot of your passion and energy from your grandfather. Now, there is one heck of a fan.

Ditto -- I love the Jacobson grandparents!
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

I work in the biochemistry dept of Univ of Nebraska-Lincoln, I work in the Vet Biomed Science building in a Biosafety Level 2 lab. (infectious, but not overly dangerous pathgens). I work on staphylococcus aureus, (yes kids giggle at coccus). I am a 2nd year grad student here persuing my PhD. So hopefully in about 3-4 years UNI needs a new Biochem/Microbio prof

Yes I thankfully got my passion from my grandpa, but thankfully as well is been diluted by a generation. The old Norweigen in me is not as ruling as in he. I love the man, but when my dad and is brothers played basketball he was known to clear a gym with his umm 'cheering'. Refs have been scared of him for decades, but he definately has passion and is a vocal person, I hope I have the energy to yell at that age.

i still think in both bradley games we had poor shooting from the outside, and some succes hitting the hoop...all 5 guys should've been going to the basket. does that seem accurate? I'm not sure about the comments on only a few guys being ready to play. why would you not be up with all the motivation we had to win last night? all in all, i don't think the game was a huge deal, slightly depressing with it being senior night and all, but the season moves on.
