    For DICKy V, Jim Nantz and the other stooges...

    Is it just me or does my warped sense of humor just love it when a team from the Valley beats a school from a BCS Conference?

    Every time this happens, I think of DICKy V and Jim Nantz sitting down to dinner with a full plate of crow on their plates. There conversation would go something like this:

    DICKy V: "I can't believe the Valley this year, a lot of dippsy doo-dunkaroos with diaper dandies everywhere...But wait until they play the DUKIES!!! Nobody in America beats DUKE...

    Jim: uh..Georgetown did yesterday...

    DICKy V: (Didn't hear him) As I said...Nobody beats the DUKIES!!!!!!

    Jim: I'm positive that any team from the Valley could not beat Duke.

    DICKy V: Just wait until they play a good Big East team on the road...Pain City and Heartbreak for Valley fans baby!!!!

    Jim: Yesterday WSU beat 'Cuse at Syracuse...

    DICKy V: (Didn't hear him) As I said wait until they play a tough opponent on the road!!!

    Jim: They also beat LSU in Baton Rouge..UNI shoul've beat Washington in Seattle and there are many other examples...

    DICKy V: Just wait until they play the DUKIES though...
    I just hope that the selection committee doesn't stay out too late again the night before like they did last year...4 teams from the MVC is a farce, a travesty, call the cops and arrest Doug Elgin..he's a thief...the Big Easy conference got mugged, the ACC got mugged...What about Florida State? Maryland? Houston? Mug city baby!!!

    Jim: 2 teams made the final 16 and the other teams lost by less than 5 points.

    DICKy V: But they didn't play Duke...


    GO VALLEY!!!!!!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. ahhh good post, yeah that's probably how it would go.
    Oh, and let me make this perfectly clear to you people: you go to UNI, NOT IOWA. The Hawkeyes and their fans do not give a crap if you remain "true to them" or some stupid self-fulfulling bullcrap like that.-OTP

      To be fair Dick Vitale may be annoying at times, but I think he is actually pretty fair and respectful to the "mid-major" non-BCS teams, at least I personally haven't heard him attack the selection committee with the vitriol that Packer and Nance did last year.

      Packer and Nance are both nothing more than shills for the Atlantic Coast Conference and got exposed last year for being the "know-nothings" they are.

        Want to know what Dicky V thinks about the MVC...go to that link and then on the right side, scroll down to 'Dick Vitale on the Missouri Valley'. You can watch what he thinks. Then, go to the Wichita State/Syracuse recap...Bucky Waters can't believe Wichita beat Syracuse..."I don't know anyone that expected this one". Bucky....silly man.

          Vital did give the Valley some nice props last night during the G-Town/Duke game on ESPN2.

            Vitale would likely give the MVC more props than Nance.
            TH1974: This guy was all-UNI, and wanted to show it by pretending to play a non-existant musical instrument in public.

              Vitale knows because he watches a lot of basketball. He has said the Valley is one of the best leagues in the country. Nance, on the other hand, watches college basketball for 1 week before the tourney.

                Vitale had UNI #17 in his top 16 teams before a lot of others were even talking about UNI as a top 25 team last year. I think he'd give the MVC a lot more credit than Nance. Nance was just really mad that his alma mater, Rice, wasn't getting the credit he thought they deserved last year. He was also being influenced by Billy Packer, who he was teamed up with for TV broadcasts, last year. Nance was actually more conciliatory laster where Packer never refused to back down from his idiotic position. The Rice Owls have their football team going to a bowl game this year. I think it's the first time in the history of the school. Maybe Nance will be satisfied with that this year.

                  My personal favorite was Digger Phelp's "I watched one game the whole year and am basing my entire opinion on the Valley on that game" defense.

                    I have got to say that was a halarious rendition. I caught myself reading it as if Dickey V were actually saying it. Man that was amazing how right on you are. I'm sorry but he is biased towards Duke, even when they get beat.

                      Yeah Dicky has given his fair share of props to the Valley. He will actually sit down and watch SEVERAL Valley games so he can actually have an informed opinion, not like Digger who watched one game and gave us the thumbs down. As for Billy Packer, he may be the most powerful man in college basketball and yet you can't find one person who likes him.
