McDonnell has done some good things in the past. I’m surprised he doesn’t play more. There must be an injury or some deficiency I’m not aware of?

A frustrating thing about last year was the lack of playing these guys more. McDonnell finally got a real chance late and showed some good things but then sat on the bench the next games. And don't even get me started on Phyfe not playing the last game. I get the arguments but c'mon......

I was very excited about Luke his freshman year. His offense has always been average to better than average which, with his playing time, is better than expected. However, last year it seemed like he was always behind or getting beat on the other end of the court. His defense just hasn't progressed. I would venture a guess this is what is driving much of his playing time. Especially in Jake's system.

McDonnell also can't seem to put on any weight which leads to getting pushed around a lot on defense.

He's a terrrrrible defensive player. That's the deficiency.
