It'll be nice to see how it goes against another D1, and maybe I shouldn't speak too soon. .. but this team is good. Real good. All the pieces are there, especially when Tywhon and Phyfe get back.

It isn't an "exhibition", it is a regular season game (but since they are non D-1, a win doesn't count toward RPI or toward a tournament resume). Though your point still stands.

Alrighty, 97-51. I'll take it. Wyatt with 19 points, AJ and Brown with 16, Berhow with 8 points and 11 rebounds, Wentzien with 11 points, and my man Lincoln Conrey with 10. Up next, first D-1 opponent coming up Saturday. I'm excited.

That was a fun game to watch, granted a DII opponent, but still fun. My only concern, not even much of one, at the end of this game is the post position. I realllllly hope that Phyfe can come in and fill that roll well. Biggie didn't seem super comfortable in that position tonight as he seemed to prefer to drive to the hoop and not just post up. I know Pickford will help in that roll too, but against bigger post players who are very physical, it could be interesting.

The post is my biggest concern too, but not really offensively. I don't know that our guys can take on a guy like Krutwig defensively. It'll be an interesting test when we face a skilled big.

For those keeping track AJ is 2017 points from becoming UNIs all time leading scorer.

I hope you will continue to track this each game during AJ's career!

That record is toast and AJ couldn't be more different than Jason Reese.

Bemidji is a bad DII (picked for 14th in the NSIC) but it was great to see us go out and step on a throat. Remember that last year we had a competitive game with Wartburg for 32 minutes.

This will end up being as good of a rebounding team as Jake has had. Biggie and Berhow to go along with Ty, Zay and McDonnell (who is a sneaky good rebounder) will allow us to play fast. The thing that has killed us trying to play fast in the past is NOT rebounding the ball. This team is very different in that regard.

                      Very, very encouraged.

We won't win em all but man is this team fun to watch. You can just feel it in the crowd, too. It's entertaining basketball, which help sells tickets.

Props to UNI game day, too. The intro video before the starting lineups was awesome, and then the highlight reel they played immediately after lineups - before tip off - was goosebump inducing. I had my infant daughter at her first game, and I had to keep my calm so I didn't scare her... but I wanted to get a little loud during those videos!
"...the Northern Iowa men's basketball team reached the ultimate highs before hitting a devastating low. Unexpected success, followed by unimaginable failure. And they owned it -- all of it -- for the world to see. Like men. Like leaders. Like champions -- in a way no tournament bracket could ever define."

Agree - could turn up the volume a little though? Much like they have done with football in the dome.

Have they always played music over the speakers during a stop clock? If they have, I've never noticed.
