  • I've got the Bulldogs by 10 over Cal-Irvine. Hmmm?

What do you guys see happening with Drake's game against the Cal-Irvine Anteaters? Seems like DU is really starting to come around, so I've got the Bulldogs by 10 against the fearsome Anteaters....Rrrrrrr. Do they make that sound?

Yes - they make that sound. I think it's too early to know how good the Bulldogs will be. I got my hopes up last year - and then they lost, like, 11 of 12. Oh well.

Go BULLDOGS (unless we're playing UNI - then it's GO PANTHERS!!!)

Well Drake was down by 17 at one point and they came back and won by 3. It should be a great matchup with Iowa. How great would it be if Drake did beat Iowa? The 2 best teams in the state are from the Valley and not the Big 10 or Big XII.
Coach Whisenhunt 1/18/09. "There was never any complaints about not being named the starter, all he wanted was an opportunity and he took advantage of it. Kurt is probably one of the greatest individuals you'll ever meet. Kurt worked hard on a lot of things that a lot of times older quarterbacks aren't willing to do. That's a credit to his humility and his competitive drive, and the reason that we are here today in great part is what Kurt Warner has done for us."

How great would a Drake win over Iowa be? Sky-high GREAT!! A Valley sweep over the Big10 and Big12....YES!!! Also it would be important if the Bulldogs could win out in their non-con. Combine a 10-2 Drake non-con with 7 wins in the nationally respected utra-tough Valley, and the Bulldogs have got a good shot at an NIT invite.

Wouldn't that be sweet if UNI was NCAA bound, DU was NIT bound, while the sad and sorry Cyclowns would be sitting at home, and the Hawkeyes might be doing the same. I do think that, with the weakness of the Big 10, Iowa could go 8-8 in conference and get an NIT invite. Possibly a re-match with the Bulldogs??? Drake could beat Iowa twice in the same season. That's crazy and oh-so fun to think about.

        Go get 'em Valley!!

Biggest difference with the Bulldogs this year as opposed to last?

          They DON'T GIVE UP.

Last year we saw them give up a couple of leads late in the game. This year they've either held on, or in this case stormed back with gusto. I think Drake will still be fighitng for an NIT bid this year, but they'll be a little better this year than last.

This year's team is more talented than last year's as well. Korver coming back really helped and that freshman, Josh Young, is really good. I would take either one on my team.
