I saw that Doug Gottlieb and Dave Revsine are broadcasting the UNI game on ESPN2. I wonder what he will say to Hartzell if they meet.

Over the past few years, Gotlieb's been both very complimentary, and he's also been well yeah. It seems that in 2006 he was very pro-uni, in 2005 very conspiracy theoryish. Regardless he has mentioned UNI on a number of occassions in his broadcasts so at least its not a broadcaster who isn't aware of the UNI program, or refer it as NIU or the Northern Iowa Hawkeyes.Comment

I'm noticing that the UNI game tonight is the only college basketball game on the ESPN family of networks at that time slot. Lots of college basketball fans looking to get their daily dose will be watching the McLeod tonight!

There's a reason why Gottlieb apologized for his comments about RH... its called, "I need my job."
Don't be fooled by this guy. He's a shill for whomever he needs to be at that particular moment.
As I've said previously, listen to him when he fills in for the talking heads on ESPN radio. This medium allows all of them to be a little more candid with their comments without having to face the same kind of ridicule that they'd face on TV. On TV more people are paying attention and they can rewind their TIVO's in order to disect exactly what was said and then regurgitate it back on Internet Message Boards.
You can say that it is a miniscule thing to mix up "NIU" and "UNI" but, to me, I dont need much more proof to know that DG doesn't really give a crap about us and doesn't do his research. If he did any small amount he'd learn very quickly that we're UNI and are very adament about that fact.Comment
